Campaign on Neonatal Jaundice at Danfa Health Centre – Sep 03 2016

The Smile on Faces Foundation as part of its campaign against neonatal jaundice organised an awareness programme at the Danfa Health Centre on 3 rd September, 2016 to educate members Health Centre, located in the Abokobi Municipality of the Greater Accra Region of Ghana of the community, especially pregnant women who visit the centre for health care. The Danfa serves about 20 communities.

The medical assistant in charge of the centre, Mrs Afetsi together with other nurses, midwives and other hospital staff hosted members of the foundation and the resource person, Dr. Adriana the causes, treatment and complications of neonatal jaundice in Akan, which is one of the Asante, a senior paediatrician of the Ridge Hospital, Accra. Dr. Asante educated the women on predominant languages in Ghana. She reiterated that any condition which is not normal with carefully answered questions from the audience to the appreciation of all present. Mrs. Afetsi them and their children should be reported to the health centre as early as possible. She also was very grateful to members of the foundation for the good initiative as well as the resource person, who took her time to carefully explain every detail
