Christmasfest 2020 at Tsokomey
The year 2020 was very challenging because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was unclear whether or not Christmasfest would take place. But through God’s faithfulness, it was successful beyond our imagination. Christmasfest 2020 was held on Saturday, December 18th at Tsokomey, a fishing community in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. All COVID-19 protocols were strictly adhered to.
The Smile on Faces Foundation (SOFF) put smiles on the faces of the aged widows, single mothers and children in the community. Our signature programs, such as onsite evangelism and the distribution of over 50 hampers containing provisions to widows and single mothers, as well as used clothing and shoes, were at the heart of the activities.
Furthermore, SOFF equipped 100 community members, comprising men and women through its livelihood support programme with skills in the preparation of pineapple juice, ‘sobolo’ (a local drink made of the hibiscus plant), fried-rice and crafts such as bead making, fascinators, liquid soap, and mushroom farming. The children were told the Good News of salvation through Christ and were feted, with each receiving toys, cookies, and drinks.
We thank our friends, family, partners, and community leaders for making it possible. Hitchhike to the next community with the SOFF team!
